Session 2: More
Co-operation - Better Research?
SESSION IN ENGLISH
A number of research
co-operation programs in the Nordic countries and in Europe have by 2008
reached results or midterm evaluation - for instance the ERA-NET ROAD
project and the Nordic road and transport research co-operation program
NordFoU veg&trafik. We evaluate and debate the impact of these programs and
projects: do they provide the research and development our sector needs or
do they just meet some formal requirements for "more co-operation"? Is the
European Research Area a reality? What do we see if we compare the programs
of the road administrations, of the infra contractors or the car
manufacturers? Have we found out which are the truly useful methodologies?
- A flock of projects or flood of programs, will we ever learn to focus?
Anders HH Jansson, Finland.
- NordFoU veg&trafik, a small-scale program for large-scale systematic
co-operation; Maria Meiner, Denmark.
- Building a new framework for trans-national European research;
Tom Warras, Finland.
- Creative partnerships for effective programs;
Anders Lundström, Sweden.
- Trying to find and implement the useful results,
Kjersti Kvalheim Dunham, Norwegian Public Roads Administration
