Session 2: Contract Types

During the past years, all Nordic countries have undergone major reorganization of the road administration and developed specialized contract types, for construction as well as operations and maintenance.

There is rapid development of contract types mirroring the evolving client-contractor relationship. New descriptions and measuring methods for performance and results are continuously being developed and new contract types introduced. The new contract types give the contractor a broader scope for technical and economical optimization within an overall responsibility. In operations and maintenance, partnering contracts allow client and contractor to collaborate in development and optimization.

This session gives concrete examples of the state of the art of contract types, criteria and measuring methods for pavements, road structures and operations/maintenance.
