Jan-Erik Enestam, Nordic Council:
A Competitive Nordic and European Market
– Possibilities and Challenges

One of the many interesting speakers of the congress is Jan-Erik Enestam, Secretary General of the Nordic Council, previous Finnish Minister, Member of Parliament and Nordic Co-operation Minister. Enestam has a long history of working actively for Nordic co-operation and competitiveness.

Jan-Erik Enestam has often underlined the advantage and synergy of Nordic co-operation.

- There are still too many cross border obstacles between the Nordic countries, Enestam states in an interview. The Nordic Council's Secretary General considers climate and energy topics, as well as research and culture, to be, among others, particularly important matters.

At the Via Nordica 2008 Congress Jan-Erik Enestam participates in the first session given in English, A Common Nordic Infra Market. The audience will hear Enestam highlight the possibilities and challenges of a competitive Nordic and European market.
